Jason Churchill P.E. - Chief Executive Officer
Jason Churchill leads a team with more than 15 years industry experience in the exploration, development and optimization of oil & gas properties. Prior to his current role, he served as VP-Operations for Venado Oil & Gas where he had responsibilities in planning and development of a 40,000 acre project in the East Eagle Ford. Prior to that, he served as Operations Manager for XTO Energy where he carried multiple responsibilities in the Barnett Shale development program. He began his career as a Drilling Engineer with ExxonMobil where he oversaw projects in the US Development and Deepwater Exploration Teams.
Mr. Churchill graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. He is a registered professional engineer in the State of Texas, and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
J.D. Braddock – President
J.D. Braddock began his oil and gas career as an Independent Landman in 2005. Since that time, he has led the land and business development efforts of multiple companies covering hundreds of thousands of acres with combined sales of over $2.5B including Wolfcamp shale pioneer Broad Oak Energy, Inc., Venado Oil and Gas/PetroLegacy Energy I in the East Eagle Ford, Peacemaker Royalties; and PetroLegacy Energy II, thru its Midland Basin company divestiture to Ovintiv, Inc. in 2023.
Mr. Braddock holds a B.A. from LSU and an M.S. in Entrepreneurship from the Cox School of Business at SMU. He is a Certified Professional Landman, a member of the APLA, the PBLA, and sits on the advisory committee of ADAM Permian.
Clayton Williford – Chief Financial Officer
Clayton Williford began his oil and gas career with BHP in 2014 supporting onshore and offshore operations. In addition to oil and gas operations, Mr. Williford spent time abroad providing risk management advisory services to Canadian, Malaysian, and Australian based Oil & Gas, Mining and Corporate operations. Prior to joining PetroLegacy in 2022, Mr. Williford worked for BOK Financial where he focused on Energy Banking. Over his tenure, Clayton secured financing for oil and gas Operators across every major basin in the Lower 48.
Mr. Williford is primarily engaged in transactions, financial planning, corporate budgeting, risk management, and treasury management for PetroLegacy.
Mr. Williford received a B.B.A. in Finance, from Texas A&M University in 2014.
Cole Thompson – Chief Operational Officer
Cole Thompson most recently served as Vice President of Operations at PetroLegacy Energy successfully executing the development of a 25,000 acre position in the Midland Basin including over 110 horizontal wells. Mr. Thompson began his career with PetroLegacy in 2015 and has held various roles of increasing responsibility, including Operations Manager and Drilling and Completions lead.
Prior to joining PetroLegacy, Mr. Thompson held various drilling and completions roles at Fidelity E&P where he focused on multi-basin vertical and horizontal development including South Texas, East Texas, Paradox Basin, and the Williston Basin.
Mr. Thompson received a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2008. He is a registered professional engineer in the State of Texas and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
