Jason Churchill P.E. - Managing Partner, Chief Executive Officer
Jason Churchill leads a team with more than 15 years industry experience in the exploration, development and optimization of oil & gas properties. Prior to his current role, he served as VP-Operations for Venado Oil & Gas where he had responsibilities in planning and development of a 40,000 acre project in the East Eagle Ford. Prior to that, he served as Operations Manager for XTO Energy where he carried multiple responsibilities in the Barnett Shale development program. He began his career as a Drilling Engineer with ExxonMobil where he oversaw projects in the US Development and Deepwater Exploration Teams.
Mr. Churchill graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. He is a registered professional engineer in the State of Texas, and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
J.D. Braddock – Managing Partner, President
J.D. Braddock began his oil and gas career as an Independent Landman in 2005. Since that time, he has led the land and business development efforts of multiple companies covering hundreds of thousands of acres with combined sales of over $2.5B including Wolfcamp shale pioneer Broad Oak Energy, Inc., Venado Oil and Gas/PetroLegacy Energy I in the East Eagle Ford, Peacemaker Royalties; and PetroLegacy Energy II, thru its Midland Basin company divestiture to Ovintiv, Inc. in 2023.
Mr. Braddock holds a B.A. from LSU and an M.S. in Entrepreneurship from the Cox School of Business at SMU. He is a Certified Professional Landman, a member of the APLA, the PBLA, and sits on the advisory committee of ADAM Permian.
Aaron Gutierrez – Managing Partner, President
Aaron Gutierrez has over 11 years of industry experience primarily focused on reservoir engineering and asset development. Prior to forming PetroLegacy Energy, he served as Asset Manager for Samson Resources in the Mid-Continent and Rocky Mountains Divisions. Prior to that, he held various roles in reservoir, completions and production engineering with Samson Resources.
Mr. Gutierrez began his career as an operations engineer with Burlington Resources in the San Juan Basin and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech University.
